Pic & Lyrics of the Day

Two Worlds
Phil Collins

Put your faith in what you most believe in
Two worlds, one family
Trust your heart
Let fate decide
To guide these lives we see

A paradise untouched by man
Within this world blessed with love
A simple life, they live in peace

Softly tread the sand below your feet now
Two worlds, one family
Trust your heart
Let fate decide
To guide these lives we see

Beneath the shelter of the trees
Only love can enter here
A simple life, they live in peace

Raise your head up
Lift high the load
Take strength from those that need you
Build high the walls
Build strong the beams
A new life is waiting
But dangers no stranger here

No words describe a mothers tears
No words can heal a broken heart
A dream is gone, but where theres hope

Somewhere something is calling for you
Two worlds, one family
Trust your heart
Let fate decide
To guide these lives we see

December 17 2007 Playlist

It's been two and a half months since I bothered to burn a new cd for my morning commute. Up until early October, I'd been making a couple a month. There was a good reason for my hiatus (distractions galore) but tomorrow it'll be nice to finally have some new tunes for the car. Of course I have to thank Master Tony for turning me on, in one way or another, to the songs with a **. The man does have great taste in music (and women). ^_^

YouTube of the Week

Last year's run as a Bath and Body Works salesgirl brought me, in addition to closets full of delicious smelling bath products, a new favorite Christmas song. It's Dino and it's all about desserts. What could be better?

Weeknight Lyrics

Photographs and Memories
by Jim Croce

Photographs and memories
Christmas cards you sent to me
All that I have are these
To remember you

Memories that come at night
Take me to another time
Back to a happier day
When I called you mine

But we sure had a good time
When we started way back when
Morning walks and bedroom talks
Oh how I loved you then

Summer skies and lullabies
Nights we couldnt say good-bye
And of all of the things that we knew
Not a dream survived

Photographs and memories
All the love you gave to me
Somehow it just cant be true
Thats all Ive left of you

But we sure had a good time
When we started way back when
Morning walks and bedroom talks
Oh how I loved you then

As human beings, it's comforting to look fondly on the past. Funny, to remember that the bluest sky is but nature's illusion against the blackest vacuum of space. From a distance, deceptively beautiful yet no less lacking in every essential for life.

Weeknight Lyrics

Hold On
by KT Tunstall

Say you to me
You're a bird with an eye for anything shiny
Searching the land for a hero of a man
You say I need
More than my fair share of attention
But I think you know
That just isn't so

Oh underneath I felt the fire of a burning question
Tearing me apart,
Right from the very start.
And now I see,
That it don't take a trick
Of the light to excite me.
So Strong
So Long
You'll see

Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on to what you know you've got.
Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on 'cause the world will turn if you're ready or not.

Simplicity,
A heart of gold, an old head in young shoulders
Quiet and lovely,
Becoming part of me.
And now I see from a handful of names and a thousand faces.

One light burning
Fiercely

I was tired of January
I was tired of June
I felt a change a-coming
oh oh
I was tired of January
Tired of June
I felt a change a-coming
oh oh
I felt a change a-coming,
I felt a change a-coming,
I felt a change a-coming soon.

Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on to what you know you've got.
Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on 'cause the world will turn if you're ready or not.

Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on to what you know you've got.
Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on 'cause the world will turn if you're ready or not.

Well the world will turn if you're ready or not
Whoa-oh
Yes the world will turn if you're ready or not.

Quirky little video from my musical obsession, Feist. Of course I'll allow it because she's awesome, but they totally borrowed our moves. Tony and I dance like this in our living room.

Weekend Lyrics

Baby-O

Artists: Dean Martin & Paris Bennett
Album: Forever Cool
Year: 2007

Baby-O, You I dig
Like-a the most ooh really big
Love the shape of your brow
Love your ooh, Love your ah, Love your wow

Baby-O, Tell me true
Could you go for me too?
Cross your heart if it's so
That you're mine, hope to die, Baby-O

Baby-O, you won't quit
Like I mean this is it
Love your mad swinging pad
You know what you're a nut and I'm glad
That's nice

Ah Baby-O, May I fly
In a plane through the sky
Writing words just to show
That you're my ten mile high, Baby-O

Baby-O, sugarplum
You are so yummy yum
Plus to wit and whereas
And tres jolie
And all that jazz

Baby-O, there are laws
So I wrote to old Santa Claus
Under my mistletoe
Just for one, please leave one
Baby-O

Weeknight Lyrics

One Sweet World
By: Dave Matthews Band

Nine planets round the sun
Only one does the sun embrace
Upon this watered one
So much we take for granted

So let us sleep outside tonight
Lay down in our mother's arms
For here we can rest safely

If green should slip to gray
But our hearts still bloody be
And if mountains crumble away
And the river dry
Would it stop the stepping feet

Take all that we can get
When it's done
Nobody left to bury here
Nobody left to dig the holes
And here we can rest safely

One sweet world
Around a star is spinning
One sweet world
And in her breath I'm swimming
And here we will rest in peace

Weeknight Lyrics

Come Tomorrow

Recorded by Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb
Written by Barry Gibb, Ashley Gibb and Stephen Gibb

[Barbra]
Are you ready for the day that we've prayed for?
Already holding what is real
You know the soul finds its own evolution
And this is the only love I feel

[Barbra]
And I tell you...
I'm keeping up the strength
I gotta try
Cause you ain't getting past
This heart of mine

I'm out here waiting for you
With all I've got to give
And I accept this life we live

[Barbra & Barry]
I'll be your lover and I'll be your friend
I'm gonna follow you right to the end

[Barbra]
I wasn't made to tell you lies
I only came to make you realize

[Barbra & Barry]
I'll be your hero and I'll be your clown
You pick me up... you let me down

[Barbra]
Don't make me stumble, don't make me wait
Cause come tomorrow, will be too late

[Barbra & Barry]
Come tomorrow
Come tomorrow

[Barry]
I got to turn away my face
Cause you blind me with your light
Can you catch up to me?
You know I love you in the black of night
This sacred ritual
This journey has begun

And we try... we try to carry on
Are you innocents
You get to find the things in life

That get you through (one more dance)
And deep inside the things you want
No one ever knew (one last chance)
Let me make it happen
This world we have foreseen
And I'll tell you how I feel

[Barbra & Barry]
Love will be better for wearing your ring
I'm gonna give you everything

[Barry]
I wasn't made to tell you lies
I only came to make you realize

[Barbra & Barry]
I'll be your hero and I'll be your clown
You pick me up, you let me down

[Barry]
Don't make me stumble, don't make me wait
Cause come tomorrow, will be too late

[Barbra & Barry]
Come tomorrow
Come tomorrow...

Saturday Night Lyrics

Higher Power by Boston
(Scholz, Sikes)

Let me love you
Take me home to your religion for the night
Let me touch you
Teach me how to see your vision through my eyes
Turn the pages
Tell my story, let me face another day
Safe embraces, I feel it comin' now
My captain's on his way.

Hey, my high power
The world is spinnin', but I'm not afraid
Yeah, give me the power It's the beginnin', the beginnin' of another day.

Yeah

Let me hold you
Take me back into the secrets of my mind
Let me know you
Come and save me Lord
Don't let me cross the line

Hey, my high power
The world is spinnin', but I'm not afraid
Yeah, give me the power It's the beginnin', the beginnin' of another day.

Ooh, let me love you
Ooh, let me love you

Hey, my Higher Power
The world is spinnin', but I'm not afraid

Yea, my Higher Power
It's the beginning of another day.

Hey, my Higher Power
The world is spinnin', but I'm not afraid

Yeah, my Higher Power
It's the beginnin' of another day.

Hey, my high power
The world is spinnin', but I'm not afraid
Yeah, give me the power It's the beginnin', the beginnin' of another day.

Hey, my high power
The world is spinnin', but I'm not afraid
Yeah, give me the power It's the beginnin', the beginnin' of another day.

Yea, yea, yea.

Pic of the Day

I have a smile
Stretched from ear to ear
To see you walking down the road

We meet at the lights
I stare for a while
The world around disappears

Just you and me
On this island of hope
A breath between us could be miles

Bad Bad Girl

What I need is a good defense
'Cause I'm feelin' like a criminal
And I need to redeemed
To the one I've sinned against
Because he's all I ever knew of love

Wish there was a great story behind my recent stint in Crazy Bitch Rehab. Like many issues with women, it boils down to hormones and a sprinkling of madness. Perhaps, even in settings of near perfection, it's inescapable, though I'd like to believe otherwise. For what it's worth, it sucks here and I never wanna come back. Take me home!

Hurray, Hurray

Part of my early addiction to Grey's was the music. And eventually I was more captivated by some of the great artists, including Rilo Kiley, than I was watching the show's relationship rollercoaster crest and fall. Grey's and I grew apart but the soundtrack artists are only getting better.

This video strikes a chord with me...I can't quite put my finger on it...

I am happy to be stuck with you
Yes it's true, yes it's true
I'm so happy to be stuck with you
'Cause I can see, I can see
that you're happy to be stuck with me

Miss You Much.

I'll tell your mama
I'll tell your friends
I'll tell anyone whose heart can comprehend
Send it in a letter baby
Tell you on the phone
I'm not the kinda girl
Who likes to be alone

Pics of the Day

My little red wireless mouse reminds me of a baby sports car there sitting next to my computer. Well I lay her to rest. I've now officially worn out the left clicker. They should measure mouse durability in expected number of clicks. Then I'd know which mouse would stand up to daily beatings by my index finger. I wouldn't be suprised if I was well into the millions of clicks in 2 years' time...

I know what I want
and I want it now
I want you cause
it's my @#$%& birthday!!!
^_^
